Plumbers Help With Earth Day River Cleanup

It was a pleasure to take part in the 26th Annual Charles River Earth Day Cleanup!
Plumbers have always been stewards of our most precious resource – clean water. The PCA and Plumbers Local 12 know just how vital clean water is, not only for our trade, but for our communities. That’s why it was so important for our Contractors and members roll up their sleeves to help keep one of our most iconic rivers clean and healthy.
Protecting our water resources, and thereby the health of our nation, has always been at the heart of our work. That’s why we’re championing legislation to advance gray water reuse, promote rainwater harvesting, replace lead pipelines, and remediate PFAs contamination. All of these initiatives will help keep our waters safe for future generations.
Thank you to the Charles River Watershed Association and the Massachusetts Rivers Alliance for getting us involved with their cleanup efforts. And a big shoutout to all the volunteers from UAM Services, EFR Mechanical, and even Former Benefit Fund Administrator Roger Gill – who came out of retirement for the day – for lending a hand.
It was a great day and the PCA is proud to help protect our waters and preserve the legacy of the Charles River for our children and grandchildren.
